15. Final post! English 201 summary

Generally I enjoyed learning English 201 course. What I like most about this course is that course is that it's very creative. There're blog assignments, grammar log and vocalulary lists which you fill with any words you want, 2 presentations in which you can express yourself in any way you like it, and formal writing assignments which are also creative assignments. So, I can say that the most important thing I've learned here is creativity combined with the writing skills. There were many writing assignments and many blogs. It has made me not to be afraid of writing, and writing became easier for me. For exmaple, while for the first time I spent hours writing me blog posts, now I manage to write them for half an hour or so. As far as this course is called "Academic writing", it seems like improvement of writing skills was the main goal of this course. So, I can say that I managed to achieve this goal in some way.

However, there're still many thing to be done. As you might have noticed from how I write this and other posts, my  vocabulary is still far from perdect. Writing 20 examples of grammar mistakes and 20 examples if unknown words is not enough for the semester. Well, it might have been enough if we had spent more time on discussing these assignments. I don't really like grammar and vocabulary (I bet none of us do), but I have to broaden my vocabulary anyway. While grammar is not so important, and all of us spent a plenty of time learning it in school, vocabulary needs improvement indeed.

I didn't read in English much during this semester. There wasn't many readnig assignments. All the assignments we had were not very interesting for me; consequently, I didn't spend much time on them. English 202 course, which I'll attend next semester, implies many reading assignments. And as far as I know, we'll read the whole fiction books. (not extracts from arcticles like we did this semester). Reading is my weakest point, so I think I'll face many difficulties next semester. But i hope I'll manage to overcome these difficulties. We will overcome everything!

David wrote that there will also be a blog assignment the next semester. So, I hope I'll write a couple of dozens posts more next semester. But for those who will attend English 362 and 365 and for those who's going to go to S. Hoyt's group I say:  Thanks for reading my blog! Good luck! Bye! =)
